Terms of Service
Last updated: April 21, 2026.
1. Who we are
Picolayer is a software project operated by its contributors. It is not currently incorporated as a legal entity. References to "we", "us", or "Picolayer" in these Terms refer to that informal group of contributors and the software they publish.
2. The service
"The Service" means the Picolayer GitHub App, this website, and any related tools we offer. Installing the GitHub App or using the website constitutes acceptance of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
3. Provided as-is
The Service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, uptime, or that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.
You use the Service entirely at your own risk. You are responsible for reviewing every change Picolayer proposes before merging it into your codebase.
4. No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the contributors to Picolayer shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of revenue, profits, data, code, goodwill, or other intangible losses — regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
You acknowledge that Picolayer makes automated changes to source code and that such changes may introduce bugs, regressions, or security issues. We assume no liability for the consequences of any code produced, proposed, or applied by the Service.
5. Your responsibilities
- Install the Picolayer GitHub App only on repositories you are authorized to modify.
- Review pull requests and issues produced by Picolayer before merging or acting on them.
- Do not use the Service to attack, abuse, or probe systems you do not own.
- Keep your own API keys (BYOK) secret. Rotate them if they may have been exposed.
- Comply with all laws and third-party terms (including GitHub's Terms of Service and the terms of any LLM provider whose API key you supply).
6. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We may also change these Terms at any time by updating this page; continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
7. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Picolayer GitHub App from your account or organization. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms or abuse of the Service.
8. Third parties
Picolayer integrates with GitHub and, when you supply keys, with third-party LLM providers (currently Google Gemini and Anthropic). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability, pricing, or behavior.
9. Contact
Because we are not incorporated, there is no registered contact address. Reach us through the feedback form on this site.
